Florida's First Assembly of God - International Kidz Musik Kamp

As many may know, Florida’s First Assembly of God will be hosting their 9thannual Kidz Musik Kamp this month. It has been a blessing to them to be able to pour into the lives of the children and to be able to teach music, Bible, and the different ways to worship our God. This year Florida’s First Assembly is excited to be sending a team to Haiti where they will be hosting their first international Kidz Musik Kamp.

In 2010, Florida’s First Assembly was preparing to send a team to Port-au-Prince, Haiti  where they would have held their very first Kidz Musik Kamp, but we all know the tragedy that occurred on January 2010 when  Haiti  was hit with a devastating earthquake. Instead, they sent a team in to help with the aftermath of the earthquake.

They partnered with missionaries Bill and Dorothy Smith and sent in three teams over the next two years to help rebuild one of the churches that had been destroyed by the earthquake. In 2012, they completed the church and attended the dedication of the newly rebuilt Meilleur Church which is now a flourishing church with 600 members.

After 4 years, God has opened the door to complete what He had started. Florida's First Assembly will be sending a team of 12-15 including their worship pastor, Pastor Lyndsay Naranjo, back to Haiti July 7-14 to work alongside missionaries Bill and Dorothy Smith once more. They will be working in Cite Soleil, one of the largest slums in the northern hemisphere where things can go from good to bad within seconds. There have been two other teams from Florida's First Assembly that have worked in Cite Soleil as well, and they have seen the desire the people have for God and the desire for change in all areas of their life. How wonderful would it be to offer the children a week full of joy in teaching them the importance of God and the importance of worshiping God?

Daniel 12:3 says “Those who are wise will shine as bright as the sky, and those who lead many to righteousness will shine like the stars forever.”

The people and children live in the poorest conditions with no running water, any electricity, mosquito infested pools from the running rainwater and many times with one meal or no meal for that day. But as we all know, with God there is hope not just here on earth but an eternal hope in heaven with Christ Jesus.

Would you consider partnering with us in taking the gospel to Haiti? We will be hosting 100 children and 50 youth in a morning and afternoon session. If you would like to partner with us here are a few ways you can do so. Financial donations can be made to Florida's First Assembly of God designated Haiti trip and mailed to Po Box 1658 Wauchula, FL 33873. We also have a list of items that can be donated or a donation can be given towards the purchase of these items. Some items are not listed-must be ordered or purchased in Haiti. Please pray for the safety of our team, but most importantly that we will be able to share the good news with the children and people of Haiti and to equip them to have a life filled with hope.

Blessings,

Elizabeth Juarez-Mier
Team Coordinator
